Yangon Technological University has always strived to establish a qualified engineering and architectural education system in Myanmar. On 1 February 2021, the democratically elected civilian government was overthrown by the Military Coup led by Min Aung Hlaing. The University strongly condemned the military coup and started the Civil Disobedience Movement- CDM. Seventy percent of the University's staff and Seventy One percent (more than 1,000 students) have been boycotting the military coup. A good education system can be shaped only by building a real democratic nation - federal democratic union for Myanmar. Under the military dictatorship, it will never happen. Therefore, the University Council will continue to play a role in overthrowing the military dictatorship. We will continue to do our best to establish a quality assured education system in the future. The Council would like to urge the international community to stand together with the people of Myanmar.
